How to add a simple product
A simple product is a basic type of product in e-commerce that has no variations or options for the customer to choose from. It is a single item with a fixed price, size, color, and other attributes. For example, if you are selling a book, a specific T-shirt in one size and color, or a downloadable file like an ebook, each would be considered a simple product. There are no configurations or additional choices that the customer needs to make before purchasing.
How to add a downloadable product
A downloadable product is a type of digital good that customers can purchase and then download directly to their devices. Unlike physical products that require shipping, downloadable products are delivered electronically, often instantly. Common examples include:
– Ebooks: Digital books in formats like PDF, ePub, or Kindle.
– Software: Applications or programs that users can install on their computers or devices.
– Music and Audio Files: MP3s, podcasts, or audio tracks.
– Digital Art: High-resolution images, illustrations, or graphic designs.
– Videos: Tutorials, courses, or entertainment content.
– Templates and Tools: Excel spreadsheets, design templates, or coding tools.
– Plugins or Themes: Add-ons for software platforms like WordPress. These products are typically sold through online marketplaces or the vendor’s website.
How to add a Variable Product
A variable product is a type of product in e-commerce that comes with multiple variations, each of which may have different attributes like size, color, material, or price. Unlike a simple product, which is sold as a single item with no options, a variable product allows customers to choose from these options before making a purchase.
For example:
– Clothing: A T-shirt that comes in various sizes (small, medium, large) and colors (red, blue, black).
– Footwear: Shoes that are available in different sizes and colors.
– Electronics: A smartphone that comes in different storage capacities (64GB, 128GB, 256GB) and colors.
Each combination of options (like a medium, red T-shirt) is considered a variation of the product. Variable products are useful when you need to offer customers a selection of choices within a single product listing.
